On Hiatus

Hi everyone,

Sorry for not updating this blog as much as I should have. I have been on a self-declared break to take time out. Work has been keeping me busy and as much as I would love to return this hobby of mine, I just cant find the time to. Am trying to get some things sorted before I can return to my safe haven of pearls, beads, crystals and my true love for crafting sweet pieces. Please continue to support me by being on my mailing list. You will be the first to know when Sweet Little Corner returns.

In the meantime, available items on my website and still up for sale and I am still sending out packages every now and then. I might be able to do customised pieces as well. Please email me for enquiries.

Getting a little personal with SLC

Thought I share a bit more about this 4-yr-old jewelry hobby of mine. I just painted this pink table about 1 month back and fixed the jigsaw 2 weeks back as well. I chose this picture because I feel that it really represents SLC. It has beads in bottles, bundles of cloth, a small jewelry counter where Daisy is, cute drawers with different knobs and a comfy chair with dolls on the table. Almost exactly how my table is... I knew it was the one I had to get when I chanced upon it at the jigsaw shop. Its too pretty to miss!

I remember making my jewelry on 1 table back at my old house, where my beads shared the space with my laptop and some shelves. Slowly, I began buying more and more materials and it has grown to the existing amount today. In fact, I do have more drawers at the side but I didnt take pics of that. Now I have my pink table dedicated to just SLC. Haha.. almost everything is pink there.

Sitting just beside the window and looking out with a view of the reservoir, I feel really blessed to have my own room and my own jewelry table. I feel most happy with my beads and charms which I love, love, love so much. They have become a big part of my life.

Hi girls..

First of all, Merry Xmas! The past 1 week has been really busy for me, attending functions, house warmings, gatherings. All has been fun, seeing familiar faces, gorging myself with food, glorious food! I must have put on weight cos I feel really bloated and my jeans wont lie!

Nonetheless, I am trying to get back on track with everything thats happening. I pray everyday for him to guide me to the right path and in the meantime, I will try my very best to make each day a good and fruitful day.

I have been also busy making new stuff, just completed 8 necklaces, no earrings yet, but thats definitely on the plate. Am exploring bracelets too, I dont make alot of them, usually only when custom orders come in. So I am thinking of making more of them and also planning on how I should bring SLC to the next level.. Hmm. any ideas to contribute?

I wanna thank everyone for their support for the past 3yrs and 9mths.. SLC will be 4 next Mar! Time flies.. I have been making jewelry for the past 3 yrs.. Made lots of friends, met loads of great people. All of you girls (and some guys too!) have been really sweet and patient with me and I sincerely thank you for that. I am also grateful for those who gave me words of encouragement during those tough times. THANK YOU!!

With that said, I wish all a Happy New Year for 2009!

SLC is taking a break

Sorry for being so quiet for the past few weeks.. Currently facing a personal issue that needs to be sorted out. I have more or less completed the custom orders but had to turn away some as well.

What bad timing as its the Xmas season and I know many of my customers have been disappointed.

I am not sure when I will return, though I wish the pain would recover and I can get back on track to my usual life. I am not even sure if I can.

Nonetheless, feel free to email me if you have any queries. The ready made items are still on for sale. I still do mail out items every now and then. Just that I dont take in custom orders at this point in time. I also probably wont be making any new items for the time being. Apologies for that.

Hope all is well with you girls, I really hope I can return soon.

Sweet Little Corner is back!

I am back! Not with a new pc though but something good enough to tide me through till the next time this baby crashes..

So I am currently really busy with lots of custom orders!! I am so behind time! This weekend will be spent solely on custom orders.

At the moment, I wont be able to have new items but pls be patient with me and I guarantee it will be worth it!

Custom orders are definitely welcome as this point in time, I will be able to take orders for Xmas, but wont be able to deliver so soon. Might take 2-3 weeks.

The inevitable has happened

I kinda expected this day to come, but didnt know it would be so soon..

My pc crashed on me yesterday night and I am going to bring it to HP probably next week. So there wont be any updates for the next 1-2 weeks.. all my data is gone! Not sure how I can retrieve it back so I'll try my best to see what I can.

In the meantime, I still have access to my email and website.. so feel free to shop around!

I should be back with new arrivals in 2 weeks, if my laptop doesnt work then I'll go buy a new one.. hmm.. good excuse to change to a new pc?

I met up with a close friend yesterday and was just asking her ways on how to increase visits to my website. Her, being a marketing guru, suggested that I create a Facebook profile for SLC so I did! And I am glad I did because there were already 3 close customers-turned-friends who already typed in my email add and were requesting to be connected! I am really happy!

My friend and I aso discussed about ways to get this Facebook thing a little more exciting, a little more fun, a little more interesting. So we have come up with this idea of having Facebok events. Recent Spate of Missing Mails

Dear girls,

Recently, I have had some experiences where my packages has been missing i.e. never reached recepient. Not sure why as well, I have made enquiries to Singpost and the postmen in charge of their "designated" post boxes have politely returned my call, but some to no avail. I understand their situation too and I think they kinda know who I am already. Haha..

Quite disappointed and sad with the way things have turned out. It was never this bad, its like 50% of my packages have gone MIA and I always write my return add behind. I really do hope they show up at my letterbox eventually.

Nonetheless, I hereby STRONGLY RECOMMEND Registered Mail from now on! Although I have to walk a good 15 mins to the nearest one, but its alright, as long as the packages reaches my customers safe and sound, thats most important. I guess its good exercise for me too?

I will do posting out of Registered Mail packages twice a week, only on weekdays (cos weekends they are closed). Will try to mail out as soon as I can but hope you girls will understand if I go 1 or 2 days later, i.e. your mail will reach you one or 2 days later.

If you are in a real rush, you are always welcome to pick it up at my place, Bedok.

Once again, postage charges by SLC:
Local Normal Mail is FREE, and Registered Mail costs $2.50 more.

I apologise for not being responsible for lost mails, but I will definitely do my due dilligence to write down my return add behind for Normal Mail. Hence, pls double check your add before hitting the "Send" button!

I also apologise for the lost mails. I feel as disappointed as you and I will try my best to ensure that it is being minimised.
